N° 03 / Services — Platforms

Most internal software is built for the demo and abandoned by the operation.

We build platforms that replace the spreadsheet, the shared inbox, and the twelve-year-old Access database — and then keep working once the people who asked for them have moved on.

That means boring things done well: a schema that survives change, an audit trail that holds up, access control a regulator will accept. The operation is the customer, not the steering committee.

How we engage

Three shapes of engagement. Pricing is per engagement — the discovery sprint is fixed-fee and a low-risk way to begin.

[01]
Discovery sprint2–3 weeks · Fixed fee
We sit with the people doing the work, map what the platform actually has to do, and scope a build worth committing to.
[02]
Embedded build3–6 months · Quoted per engagement
We design, build, and ship the platform, then operate it through the first few months of real use.
[03]
Operate & extendOngoing, monthly · Monthly retainer
We keep the platform current — new requirements, new integrations, the refresh cycle — without it rotting between projects.

Built with agents

We build your platform at 10x — and the test bar goes up.

Apps, websites, internal platforms — we build them with coding agents doing the repeatable work and senior engineers spending their judgement on the parts that carry risk. It is the same way we build our own software.

[01]
Agents do the volume
Boilerplate, CRUD, schema migrations, the test suite, the fortieth variant of a form — mechanical work, and most of a conventional build's hours. Agents clear it in a fraction of the time.
[02]
Engineers own the decisions
Architecture, the data model, the security and audit boundary, the failure modes. Senior time concentrates here, where getting it wrong is expensive.
[03]
Faster and more tested
Because writing tests is no longer the bottleneck, every change ships with them. You get the delivery speed without the reliability cost that usually comes with it.

In practice

A few projects in this lane. Each one is a real engagement with a full case study.

Project Integral Mesh
An on-premise AI platform that plugs into the systems, files, and inbox a business already runs on — and turns them into queries, walkthroughs, and tools.
Sentinel
A plant protection platform — web and mobile on one codebase, wired straight into Power BI for live analytics.
Project Marrburn
A bespoke operations platform — BoM, inventory, planning, and financial modelling — for a major UK livestock supplier.

Frequently asked
[01]
Do you work with our existing systems?
Usually we have to. Most platforms we build sit on top of, or alongside, something old. We treat the legacy system as a constraint to design around, not a problem to wish away.
[02]
Who owns the code?
You do. We hand over the repository, the documentation, and the deployment. No lock-in by design.
[03]
What stack do you build on?
A small, boring, well-understood one. We optimise for the team that maintains it after us, not for novelty.
[04]
Can you take over an existing project?
Sometimes. We'll review it honestly and tell you whether a rescue or a rewrite is the better spend.
[05]
How do you handle compliance and audit?
From the schema up. Audit trails, access control, and data retention are designed in at the start, not retrofitted before a review.
[06]
What happens after launch?
We operate the platform through its first months and then offer a retainer. Software that nobody maintains is software that quietly fails.
